Just wanted to let all of my friends know that I am officially one of the new writers and contributers for Bound4Life’s blog. In case you don’t know about Bound 4 Life, they are a group that is currently based out of Washington and they are leaders in the fight against abortion and all of the governmental policies that make abortion possible.

You will not get a better and more informative place on the web in the Pro-Life Movement. Bound 4 Life has many chapters throughout the U.S. that daily prayer meeting on behalf of the sanctity of life.

They are famous for their approach through the use of “Life Tape” at their protest. Bound 4 Life protesters do not protest through hate and violence but pray through silence on behalf of the millions of children whose voices have been taken away from them.

Check out this video.  We truly are a civilization that is being controlled by the media unless you have a brain that works as a seperate entity from the mainstream, which would be ideal for anyone.  Check them out.  It’s more humorous than anything.

I just have to say that I wish we had this subject was reversed back to the way it used to be, when the old were the leaders and we listened to them as the youth, not the youth determining the culture.  I think that youth is simply a blank slate, that if properly taught, will learn from all the hardships, wisdom, and guidance from the old and then build off of their predecessors success and go further than the previous generation.  That is the way it worked for us to go from era to era and progress as humans and cultures.  Now we have youth leading other youth, instead of the old leading the youth.

If you are looking for a church or a movement that is truly doing things the way God intended, look for the youth to be openly receiving counsel from the old, and actually listening to them.  Practically, can you actually look at culture and say that the order that God intended is not out of whack?  And if you look at culture and see that it is out of whack, what are we doing to put in back in to order in our spheres of influence?  I mean what do we really want the old to think these days when you flip on the tv or radio and the people that our culture has placed as the best “artists”, “actors”, “politicians”, etc. are there because they have completely sold their soul and in order for them to sell records they have to first sell their cleavage to the public, and for them to be popular with the public they have to endorse the gay agenda, and in order for them to be elected they have to be Pro-Choice just so it makes them more youthful and relevant in their views.  

My grandfather was a very old school type of guy and he was gentle and kind, but if you really dug deep in what he thought about certain things he would be open and truthful with what he thought.  I once asked him what he thought about my music that I was writing at the time and he said “I just don’t like the rock music cause it doesn’t seem to be Godly”.  Now being a rocker I took offense to it at the time, but now that I am older and see things a little different I know and realize some things that I didn’t then.  See my grandfather was a pastor for most of his life.  Very old school and traditional (not a bad thing, when it’s not religious).  He was a great shepherd.  And love people more than I have seen any other person in my life.  In the last years of his life I watched a change happen to him that breaks my heart in a way because I saw some dreams die in him.  

See, in the past years of the rise of the “relevant church” concept, there has been a pushing out of all the old and a rush of the new.  I believe it has been the most rapid and detrimental changes in all of church history, and I believe that my grandfather saw it and silently bore a grieving that he could not share.  I saw in the last 5 years of his life, after his retirement, when he moved to the city we lived in and attended our church where I was worship leader and my father was the pastor.  We were so much more “progressive” than he was and all the other churches around him were moving that way too and he eventually stopped coming and went to a church of 20 that he found on a back road somewhere.  Now I know that doesn’t mean we were completely wrong in all the things we were doing, but it makes me ask the question……… “Why was there not a place built in our lives where the man who had been in ministry for over 50 years was able to counsel us on what we were doing?”  

Things should progress in life, but they should be done under the wisdom of God and of our elders or you end up having youth leading youth.  Amuse me by thinking about this example…….. take 50 years of experience and then add it to a youth’s 10 years of experience, you’ll get a youth that is far more equipped than the one who takes 15 years of experience from a fellow youth and adds it to their 10 years of experience.  50+10=60     15+10=25.  

Yes, the video was comedic in a sense but there was so much truth to what he was saying.  I don’t want to be 50 and listening to what Hollywood thinks is morally acceptable and is trying to sell to the general public.  Why are the elderly not in most of the big churches anymore, there is simply not a place for their wisdom.  The culture change when it started putting all the power in the youth and now we are a just plain stupid nation when it comes to our decisions, morals, and beliefs.  

Why is Molly Cyrus leading a generation?  

Why does she have more of a voice to our kids than the parents and the grandparents?

Why is the music on the radio all crap?

Why does it just talk about sex and material things, that people would rather have than financial stability and a bright future?

Look at the decline of our nation since the 30’s.  Who has become the most powerful voice?  The youth or the old?  Who has more power?  Some would say the old since they are the ones in office or have the money.  But I say that the youth do right now because if they choose to not like something, the people who are power and money hungry will change everything just to pacify and make the youth happy so that they start buying again.  

I know this isn’t all that is wrong with this picture, and that’s why I’d like to open the discussion.  What are you seeing?  What do you feel about this?  Do you really want to live your life where the young have more of a say than you?  I mean, really think about it.  At this rate.  The little morals we do have in our generations will be even more demoralized by the next if we go the route we are going.  

Think about this.  

“He who has the gold, makes the rules”

“And everybody works for somebody”

If these two statements are true, then you have to ask yourself this question.  Who really has the gold, and do they really work for someone.  Now think of a spoiled bratty kid…. do you really think he works for anyone?  Do you really think he cares what he does, when there is no consequences for his actions?  Now ask this……. do the big executives on Wall Street, or the people in Hollywood and Washington have all the money and are making all the rules?  Or are they working for the youth, making them happy, and meeting all their desires, and conforming to their values, and working hard to make products for them, making music talk about sex all the time just because that is all a hormonal teenager is thinking about………… are they working for the youth because they have figured out the youth are the ones with the money and they are truly the ones who make the rules?  

That should open the doors for discussion enough now……….. what are your thoughts?????????????????

I wanted to take a second and encourage everyone, whether you are Democrat or Republican, for the Health Reform or against it, whether you are for “Big government” or “small government”. If you are a Christian, you should not be making the tension worse by speaking out against our government if you are not praying. Logic and common sense are not the weapons that God gave us. Prayer is our foremost weapon.

There is a very cool, easy to use, and genius site that JHOPDC put together that will help you to remember to be praying for our leaders and gives you a very easy way of calling them out by name when you pray. I just would like to encourage and even dare you to add it as your homepage so that every time you boot up you will be reminded to be praying for them. Amuse me and just check it out. The last thing we need is more ranting and raving lunatics working out of the flesh. We need people with a timely word and fervent prayers. Check it out….

First of All

My mother-in-law blessed me with a very very early birthday present this weekend. It’s early cause my birthday isn’t till December. She gave me a record player. I have been searching for one for a year now, and she brought me one this past weekend.

There is nothing like lounging around and listening to old and new records. I sat down this weekend for about an hour and just chilled and listened to the records I have. From the old but good stuff I have on 45’s like Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Fats Domino, Kenny Rogers, and BB King to my new stuff like Explosions in the Sky.

There is really nothing like it. Digital sounds to perfect sometimes. I like to hear the genuine sound that comes from records. I like imperfections. They show we are human and real. And there truly is nothing like the art of music. I plan on spending many hours around that record player with the family just listening to the art of the past 100 years. It’s so much better than watching the stuff that is on television.

We are have been working on in the studio for months.  I have no concept of time.  No idea how long it has been now.  Everything runs together, and everything feels like one very long day.  I am excited about the tracks and what the sound is that is coming out of the band.  As soon as I have the slightest little piece of music that I can share with you all I will put it up soon.

With the big move to Texas coming within a month we are in crunch time and have to get all the tracking done before the move.  We are currently working on vocals so we are close.  This is where it’s gets really rough on you physically, but it’s all good.  God has given us tons of grace to get this done on time.

We still have few months ahead before we are ready to release it and wrap it up.  Still have the rest of the tracking and touch ups, editing, mix downs, and mastering.  So we are a little over half way done.

It’s going well.  Becky just moved to Dallas last week but got all of her violin parts tracked and they sound great.  Then Jed Kasica drove down from Grand Rapids, MI and played cello on quite a few tracks.  The strings on this album are off the hook.  Just extremely well done.

I have a brother who has special needs, therefore this proposed bill hits home for me when in Pg. 354 Sec. 1177 – Government will RESTRICT the enrollment of special needs people!  Or the fact that I have grandparents, like all of us, just like you, that are in danger of what it reads on many pages like Pg 425 Lines 4-12 Government mandates Advance [Death] Care Planning Consult. Think Senior Citizens end of life.

Please go and click the link above and no matter what side of the isle you think you’re on (as if it really matters), go and read on this bill, because whether you are Christian, Muslim, Athiest, or just plain clueless, this bill will have a great detrimental impact on our lives here in America and we must act fast since this is already before our Officials.

If you haven’t been paying attention to this new “Health Care Reform” that is trying to be pushed through in our capitol right now, you should really let your ears perk up and pay attention. Your federal tax dollars could pretty soon be going straight into the hands of men and women who murder baby after baby. We must pray and take action so that it does not go through. Adoption is the answer to unplanned pregnancies and for parents who can’t care for a child, not bloodshed.

Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Michigan, warned that any comprehensive federal health care law would pre-empt individual state decisions regarding abortion services

“By making abortion an essential benefit and requiring that provider networks’ enrollees have access to the items and services covered, this legislation would negate more than 200 individual laws in nearly every state that have stood the test of time and the scrutiny of the courts,” he claimed.

I have to give credit to my friend Jake for posting something on this first. The news is that Ukraine has banned the movie Bruno because it could “damage the morality” of its’ citizens. What a noble concept…..a governing force that actually protects it’s citizens from moral decay and lifestyles of anarchy. A free society is a society that functions under the constructs of governing laws that allow them to have the best life they can through free enterprise and choice of direction through moral absolute truths and just precepts that serve as guidelines for life.

A society of anarchy is a society that does not believe that there is such a thing as absolute truth. That believes everything in life is relative and problems can always be fixed through a compromise. Laws are made in a so called “progressive” way, because apparently we are getting more logical and wise and generations pass and new ones come up. I simply call it a moving away from the word of God and His absolutes.

Our nation is definitely in a state of anarchy. For example, when our “leaders” are caught in scandal after scandal, when they use the name of religion to get voted into their positions and don’t even know God in a relational way, and when they promote the death of innocence then we are surely in a state of chaos.

Would it be too much to ask if I were to ask for us to once have a government that looked out for the well being of our country’s moral stability more than their personal agendas and lust for power and greed.

It may be a far fetched concept for some but I believe our nation would start to see a change in crime, abuse, murder, lawlessness (which is what was prophesied in Revelation would come in the last days during the great falling away), etc., if we saw a cleaning of house when it comes to Hollywood alone. I believe if we saw leaders begin to step up and force Hollywood to clean up it’s act when it comes to movies such as Bruno, we would start to see a turn in a lot of areas.

I said my piece on this. I just pray that our nation would see that we are currently not living in freedom but truly living in lawlessness which is a SLAVE to sin. But remember we can choose “To be in the world, but NOT OF THE WORLD”.
